Oklahoma Democrats to join forces in state Legislature

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Democrats in the Oklahoma House and Senate are joining forces to push an agenda that includes expanding Medicaid, putting more money into public school classrooms and restoring a tax break for low-income Oklahomans.
House Minority Leader Emily Virgin and Senate Minority Leader Kay Floyd jointly announced their plan on Tuesday, complete with a logo and a slogan of "Brand New State." Both women are new to their leadership posts, and the unified agenda is a departure from how the minority caucuses have worked in the past.
