Alva’s own American Idol participant, Jakob O’Brien, will be singing at the Citizens Choice Awards Gala Monday evening. Sponsored by the Alva Area Chamber of Commerce, the gala honors outstanding individuals and businesses nominated by the public. Presentation of the awards will include stories and backgrounds of those honored.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeurves and a social hour at the Baker Hangar at the Alva Regional Airport. A silent auction will feature items donated by individuals and businesses. The citizen choice awards program will start at 7 p.m.
