RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After leading Arkansas Tech to their first tournament win of the spring season, Pia Nunbhakdi has been named the Great American Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Nunbhakdi is the third different Golden Sun golfer to win the weekly conference award.

Nunbhakdi earned a second-place finish at the St. Edward's Invitational in Austin, Texas on Tuesday. Nunbhakdi opened the tournament by firing a 2-over-par 73 on Monday, and followed with a second 73 in the final round on Tuesday. Her score of 146 (+6) helped the Golden Suns claim their second tournament victory of the year. She finished the tournament with a tournament-high 27 pars.

Nunbhakdi, a senior from Bangkok, Thailand, has placed in the top-six in her last three tournaments now. Nunbhakdi and the Golden Suns will return to the course on Mar. 4-5 as Tech travels to Bethany, Okla. to compete in the SNU Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational being played at the Kickingbird Golf Club.
