OBU Tennis Teams Split Matchup With Ouachita

 


SHAWNEE – The OBU tennis teams split their matches Friday afternoon against Great American Conference rival Ouachita Baptist in Shawnee.

The Lady Bison swept to a 4-0 win, while the OBU men fell 0-4 to the visiting Tigers.

The doubles team of Stefy Varon and Tahlia Walsh made quick work of their opponents in a 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot, while Ethne Dowling and Kim Moosbacher won 6-3 at No. 1 to secure the doubles point for OBU.

Playing to clinch, the Lady Bison got singles victories by Moosbacher (6-1, 6-1), Dowling (6-2, 6-1), Walsh (6-0, 6-2) and Alex Bowers (6-1, 6-1).

Ouachita earned the men's doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spot. The Tigers won singles matches at Nos. 2, 3, and 4 to clinch.

The OBU men are back on their home courts tomorrow, April 6, to take on Seward County Community College at 3 p.m., while the Lady Bison are off until Tueday, April 9, when Southeastern Oklahoma State visits Bison Hill for a 3 p.m. GAC matchup.
