Oklahoma woman fatally shot by father-in-law, police say

 


SULPHUR, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say an Oklahoma woman was fatally shot by her father-in-law after arriving in a Walmart parking lot to pick her up children from her estranged husband.

Alan Chaney of Ardmore was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jaclyn Chaney in Sulphur, about 85 miles (135 kilometers) southeast of Oklahoma City.

Court records do not list an attorney to speak on behalf of Chaney, who remains jailed.
