Retired Springfield teacher acquitted of abusing a child

 


SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A retired Springfield teacher has been found not guilty of sexually abusing a child.

A jury on Thursday acquitted 74-year-old Danny Carroll of two counts of first-degree child molestation. Carroll worked more than 30 years in education.

The Springfield News-Leader reports he was charged in August 2016 after a 12-year-old girl accused him of using a vibrating on her over her clothing while she was visiting his Greene County home.
