NWTC's Morales, Crissup place first in emergency response event

Gabriela Morales and Janell Crissup

Northwest Technology Center students Gabriela Morales and Janell Crissup placed first in the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) event at the International Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Conference last week in Orlando, Florida. In the CERT event, students were given realistic emergency response scenarios. Each team responded to the situation and was evaluated on their response.

HOSA is the largest international student organization for students pursing a career in the healthcare industry. HOSA is vital to supplying students to an industry that is projected to add five million jobs by 2022.

Crissup and Morales are both enrolled in the practical nursing (PN) program at Northwest Technology Center. They will complete the PN program in October. Their instructors are Tara Thomas and Karlea Irvin.
