Freedom Museum to host Halloween event: 'Night at the Museum'

October 24, 2019

Freedom community members are invited to attend the “Night at the Museum,” a Halloween party next Wednesday, Oct 30.

This event is free of charge for those who wish to attend, and partygoers will have the opportunity to win a chimenea as a door prize. The winner will be announced at the end of the evening.

“We wanted to do something fun and decided on this idea,” museum board member Judy Devine said. “There may even be some ‘live characters’ attending.”

Those attending will have the opportunity to tour the museum since the main gallery was recently re-arranged and for the first time in 40 years the cabinets are more accessible to display. Partygoers can also watch old videos of rodeo in the 1940s and the “Womanless Wedding” a play featuring some of Freedom’s past characters and directed by the late Mrs. Naomi Bilyeu.

Dinner will feature sloppy joes, punch, coffee, cookies and other snacks.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m.
