Open House at Helena Historical Society

The Helena Historical Society hosted an open house during Helena’s Oktoberfest celebration. As part of the open house, a dessert contest and auction were held to benefit the museum.

In the youth division Autumn May won 1st place with her Wow cake, Pete Gwinn won 2nd place with his apple pie, Lars Gwinn won 3rd place with his carrot cake and Autumn May 4th place with her pumpkin caramel cream cheesecake.

In the adult division Rita Pjesky received 1st place with her easy peasy pumpkin cake, Patty LeCrone Kear-Ross 2nd place with her honey bun cake and 3rd place with her impossible coconut pie, Faye Allison received 4th place with her sour cream raisin pie and Lisa Chapman 5th place with her apple caramel cake. All contest entries were auctioned off by Chad Greb assisted by Toby Walker and Carissa Huffman.

While eating a delicious homemade chili lunch the membership elected the 2020 board of directors for the museum. Roberta Davis will serve as president, Suzanne Sturgeon first vice-president, Rita Pjesky second vice president, Jo Gwinn secretary, Alysha Locke treasurer and Rhonda Hungerford and Patty LeCrone Kear-Ross as members at large.
