Oklahoma authorities investigate county jail inmate's death

DUNCAN, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it is investigating the death of a Stephens County jail inmate.

The OSBI said Raymond Smith, 31, died Saturday at a hospital in Duncan where he was taken after his cellmates reported that Smith had become disoriented while in a jail cell.

The OSBI said an ambulance was called when Smith's condition worsened and he was taken to Duncan Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead,

Smith had been arrested earlier in the day for driving with a suspended license and was booked into the jail in Duncan, about 70 miles (113 kilometers) southwest of Oklahoma City.
