Man booked into jail after sister's body found in Kansas

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) — A Lawrence man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 22-year-old sister, Johnson County prosecutors said Thursday.

John Parker Mays, 27, was arrested Tuesday night in Douglas County after his sister, Layne Mays, was found dead, Overland Park police spokesman John Lacy said. He was charged Thursday and is being held on $1 million bond.

.Authorities have not said how Layne Mays died.

Layne Mays's mother found her body and called police, police said.
