The Alva Ladybugs met the Elk City Elkettes in the first round of the Cashion Countyline Tournament Thursday afternoon. It had been several years since the Ladybugs met Elk City so they were somewhat of an unknown. Despite tying in the first quarter and trailing at the half, the Ladybugs pulled off the victory, 56-42, to advance in the winners’ bracket.

The lead changed back and forth in the first quarter, and Alva led in the final minutes until Elk City’s Bailey Miller sank a three just before the buzzer for the 10 point tie.
