Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Hill will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 24.

Rodger Hill and Jan Schwerdtfeger were married at the Capron United Methodist Church, Capron, Oklahoma, on May 24, 1970. Rodger served in the US Navy from 1971-1975, taking the couple to Millington, Tennessee, and Beaufort, South Carolina, before they returned to Capron.

Rodger and Jan moved to Burlington in 1978 and have been active community members since. Rodger spent many years working at the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge. Jan was the long-time school secretary at Burlington Public Schools. In...
