One man injured after shots fired during altercation in Alva

 


Shots were fired and one person was arrested following an altercation in Alva in the early hours of Saturday, July 11. The incident took place in the parking lot adjacent to the Alva Municipal Swimming Pool.

According to court records, at 12:30 a.m. July 11 Alva Police Officer Sean Farris was dispatched to 14th and Choctaw after a report of a shooting. He found Elias Samaniego lying on the ground with a small-caliber gunshot wound in his left thigh. Standing by him was Lorenzo Ceniceros who helped Samaniego give a statement as his English language skills were limited.
