Freedom teen injured in collision with tree

A Freedom teen was injured when the vehicle he was driving struck a tree Friday in Woodward County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol withheld the driver’s name since he is only 16. The wreck occurred at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 11 on State Highway 50 approximately two and three-tenths miles north of Mooreland.

The 2010 Chevrolet Silverado was northbound on Highway 50 when the driver dropped his phone and attempted to pick it up. The vehicle left the roadway to the right, traveling 1,377 feet before striking a tree.
