Kiowa's major $8 million waterline replacement project is about to get started.

At a special meeting Dec. 7, the council didn't have a quorum, but could receive and discuss information. The council was told they had between 18 and 20 contractors interested in doing the waterline replacement.

The council set this Friday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. as the time to open the bids in the council chambers. They'll award the bid at a special city council meeting, the time to be determined....
