Alva's First Assembly of God invited area law enforcement officers, including the Alva chief of police, Woods County sheriff, their officers and their families, to the church's Sunday morning service for special recognition.

Interim Pastor Donnetta Hunter shared a message from Psalms 91: that God will provide a hedge of protection as these officers are protecting the citizens). She stated that it frustrates her that the officers on the news and on social media doing bad things give a bad name to all the officers who are doing good.
