Simpson resigns from council, Robison to fill his term

 


At the July 12 meeting of the Kiowa City Council they had a full agenda. Mayor Bill Watson opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the prayer. Saying the prayer was usually something that Councilmember R.L. Simpson did, but he had resigned his position the previous week.

Local woman Janet Robison was appointed by the mayor to fill Simpson's unexpired term. She took the oath of office from City Clerk Cady Tucker before taking her seat at the council table for the first time. The rest of the council members present were: B.J. Duvall, Brian Hill, Jason Thayer and Tom Wells. City Attorn...
