Hayli Watkins crowned Miss Timberlake

Two contestants competed to become this year's Miss Timberlake: from left are Miss Timberlake Hayli Watkins and contestant Brooklyn McDonald.

The Miss Timberlake Pageant was held on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Jack McCoy, president of the Timberlake Student Council, welcomed guests as the master of ceremonies. Kinlee Judd, student council vice president was mistress of ceremonies. The contestants competed in three categories, interview, talent and evening gown.

Contestants were Brooklyn McDonald and Hayli Watkins. Brooklyn performed a vocal solo to "Stay," by Sugarland, while Hayli performed a tap dance to "Get Rhythm," by Johnny Cash. Other entertainment was provided by Amiah Ross with the vocal solo "Alleluja," and a few senior boys provided some special entertainment.

Hayli Watkins was crowned the 2021 Miss Timberlake by Summer Finney, last year's winner. Watkins received a tiara and a bouquet of roses donated by Cherokee Floral. Watkins will compete in the Miss Cinderella Pageant to be held Oct. 7-9 at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.


Judges for the afternoon were Paige Fischer, Denise Morris and KaLynn Roy. Greyson Ioerger was the sound man and Colten Lormand ran the spotlight. Chase Pierce and Conner Griffin were stage hands. Marlee Pecha assisted Debbie Crissup with pageant activities while Kailyn Mattingly assisted the contestants. Natalee Green kept gate for the evening. Jeannessa McCollum, the new FACS teacher, provided food for the judges. The Miss Timberlake Pageant is sponsored by the Timberlake Student Council.
