LAREDO, Texas – The Northwestern men's golf team opened their spring season at the Laredo Country Club for the John Brown Invitational hosted by Texas A&M International.

Head Coach David Rogers assessed it in staccato: "First tournament of the season after four months off. Conditions were tough on the first day and the guys struggled to adapt to Bermuda greens. Second day and third round, the guys settled in a bit and got it going with some birdies. I think this was a wake-up call for them and in a good way.
