Alfalfa County Election Board Secretary Kelly Stein announced today that the Cherokee School District has opted to close the polling places for Precincts numbered 230 and 330 in Alfalfa County for the Board of Education General election and Precinct No. 140 for the Special Election for Burlington School District scheduled on April 5.

State law allows a school district to close a precinct polling place for an election if the entire precinct is not contained within the district’s boundaries and if fewer than 100 registered voters reside in the part of the precinct that is inside the district.
