ALVA, Oklahoma – Northwestern Oklahoma State Soccer opened their first week of the season going 2-0 with wins on Friday over Oklahoma Panhandle State and on Sunday over Newman University. The Ranger team was rewarded with two player of the week winners as the GAC announced Wednesday afternoon.

Senior Abby Nunez won offensive player of the week following her performance this past weekend. While transfer Maggie Koster earned goalkeeper of the week following her performance in the win over Newman.

Nunez scored in both games this season with two goals in the season opener including the game winner in the 4-1 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State before adding another goal on the season for her third in the weekend on nine shots and seven on goal.

Maggie Koster made her Ranger debut on Sunday afternoon against Newman University saving five of the six shots she faced on goal for a save percentage of 83.3% while helping the Rangers to their second straight win.

The Rangers will returned to action on Thursday playing host to Wayne State College before the first road game against Fort Hays State
