No bids on plumbing at Woods County Courthouse

September 28, 2022

On Monday the Woods County commissioners were ready to open bids on plumbing for the courthouse but none were received. This leaves them in a difficult situation as the plumbing project is big enough they have to take bids.

Commissioners David Hamil, District 1; Randy McMurphy, District 2; and John Smiley, District 3, were present for the regular Monday morning meeting.

A road crossing permit for Alfalfa Electric Cooperative was approved in District 1. It is for an overhead utility line and no fee will be charged. The beginning and ending points are described as 4-28-14 to 33-19-14.

Hamil made a motion, seconded by McMurphy, to approve a transfer of appropriations from Highway CIRB to Highway Personal Services in the amount of $15,276.12 for District 1 and $15,276.13 for District 2. The motion carried.

An application for a JAG (Justice Assistance Grant) grant for the sheriff’s department was approved. The grant would be used to purchases six licenses for GeoSafe Citations software, which can be used for electronic ticketing.

The commissioners agreed to allow the use of the courthouse lawn for NWOSU's Rodeo on the Square Oct. 27. This event is held prior to the first night of the Ranger Rodeo and gives elementary students the opportunity to participate in some rodeo-style events.

Approval was granted for District 3 Airgas lease renewals from Oct. 1, 2022, to Sept. 30, 2022, in the amount of $64 each. Airgas provides specialty gases in cylinders.

The commissioners also approved payroll, warrants, claims and blanket purchase orders.
