A stolen vehicle pursuit ended in a wreck with the suspect hospitalized. He was being pursued into Woods County by a Major County deputy when both vehicles went through a T-intersection. The suspect is reported in critical condition while the deputy was treated and released.

The collision occurred Wednesday at 9:35 p.m. on County Road 500 and Cleveland Road, approximately six miles east and eight miles south of Hopeton.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Howard T. Selvey, 48, of Enid, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup that had been reported stolen. He was traveling northbound on County Road 500 and being pursued by Anthony Robinson, 42, of Chester, a deputy with the Major County Sheriff’s Office, who was in a 2011 Ford F150 pickup. Both vehicles went through a T-intersection, entered the ditch and went into a field.

The pickup Selvey was driving rolled a half time, coming to rest on its top. Selvey was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported from the scene by Air-Evac and taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with head, neck and trunk internal injuries.

Deputy Robinson’s vehicle came to rest on its wheels, and he was wearing a seatbelt. Robinson was taken by Major County Sheriff’s Office to Fairview Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.
