“Good evening Mr. and Mrs. America, and all the ships at sea.” These words were spoken by Walter Winchell at the beginning of each radio and later television news broadcast from 1930 to the late ‘50s.

These communication mediums have become commonplace but before Guglielmo Marconi invented the radio in 1920, we had Morse code. It is an electronic form of communication, first carried by telegraph lines and later over the airwaves. It uses a series of dots and dashes to relay information.
