NWOGS members reminisce, share info in 'Remembering Alva's Past'

April 14, 2023

The Northwest Oklahoma Genealogy Society (NWOGS) met at the Alva Public Library on March 11 at 11 a.m. for their March meeting. There was plenty of discussion about the program, “Remembering Alva's Past.” Those in attendance did a great job in sharing the names and locations of various businesses around the square. There was lots of laughter and everyone enjoyed being able to share in some way to the discussion.

The next meeting of the Northwest Oklahoma Genealogy Society will be held in the Fireplace Room of the Cherokee Strip Museum of Alva at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Renee Trindle, archivist at the Sod House Museum and a historian at the Oklahoma Historical Museum. Trindle is a wealth of information about northwest Oklahoma and a skilled researcher of area history. She will cover cattle companies and ranches in the Old M and Woods counties.

Visitors are welcome.
