Alva FFA hosts Greatest Livestock Judging Camp Ever

Students from Alva, Waynoka, Seiling, Vinita, Caney, Mooreland, Woodward and Arnett gathered at the Woods County Fairgrounds for livestock judging camp.

On May 23 and May 24, 56 4-H and FFA members gathered at the Woods County Fairgrounds for The Greatest Livestock Judging Camp Ever. The event was hosted by the Alva FFA chapter, but students from Waynoka, Seiling, Vinita, Caney, Mooreland, Woodward and Arnett attended.

During camp, everyone learned how to judge, market and breeding livestock animals, how to give a good set of reasons, and had fun the entire time.

Of course you can't pull off a great camp without great volunteers and sponsors Paula McMurphy, Don and Karen Thomas, Tyler and Alex Mantz, James Lott, Amber Bosch, Amber Sandoval, Megan McMurphy and Crystal Murrow. Lunch both days was provided by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma and the Seiling FFA chapter.

Also, a huge shout out to the breeders who provided animals for the camp, Davis Club Lambs, Gosney Show Pigs and McMurphy Farms.
