Woods County Excise Board holds brief meeting

The Woods County Excise Board meeting Wednesday morning, Feb. 21, was routine with Chairman Joe Shirley and member Bob Seivert present. Chris Olson was absent. County Clerk Shelley Reed was also in attendance.

After approving minutes from Jan. 17, the board voted to approve the following monthly appropriations:

District #1 $125,341.02; District #2 $125,341.03; District #3 $268,393.32; CBRI D#1 $17,439.41; CBRI D#2 $17,439.41; CBRI D#3 $17,439.41; Enhanced 911 $29,706.55; Assessor’s Fee $360; County Clerk’s Lien Fee $2,117.12; County Clerk’s Preservation Fee $1,980; Sheriff’s Revolving $100; Court Clerk Salary $4,238.87; Emergency Management $5,000; Treasurer Resale $3,289.68; Sheriff Commissary $48.70; Sheriff’s Service Fee & CHS $7,487.67; Mortgage Tax $60; Sheriff Drug Task Force $220; Federal Rescue Plan Act of 2021 $6,815.61; Local Assistance & Tribal Cons $437.40; Court Clerk RM & Pres $279.75; Mechanic Lien Cash Bond $4.48.


A change to the Alva Public Schools estimate of needs was approved to recognize a $50,000 donation received.

Board members acknowledged the transfer of appropriations from Highway CIRB to Highway personal services in the amount of $13,284.51 for District #1 and $13,284.50 for District #2.

They also acknowledged the correction of an error, transferring $61.20 from FICA/Medicare to the treasurer’s statutory travel account.

Another erroneous entry was corrected with board approval of transferring $130 from the Sheriff Service Fee to the Sheriff Revolving Fund.
