Pray without ceasing

March 15, 2024

We all have both good things and bad things that happen in our lives. Sometimes the bad things seem to come a little more often, and in sequences of two to three happenings at a time. It could be as severe as losing our job or a loved one, or it might be as simple as dropping some jewelry or some other small object, like loose change, in between the unforgiving cushions of the couch, where they will be hidden away for years to come. When this occurs, we sometimes let it get us down and dampen our spirits to the point of giving up.

We want to encourage the reader that the Lord is there for us at all times, and we need to lean on him for strength! When we are having trouble, whether great or small, we need to drop to our knees and become a “Prayer Warrior!” In fact, we need to be a “Prayer Warrior” every day, because there are so many things and so many people to be praying for.

I Thessalonians 5:17 says we are to, “Pray without ceasing,” and Matthew 6:6 says, “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” These two verses set the tone for a “Prayer Warrior” as to how often and where we should lift up our needs to the Father.

Prayer is a very powerful tool in our struggle against the Evil One and should be used at all times to call on God’s help, guidance and strength to overcome Satan’s fiery darts whether they be severe or simple ones. Prayer seems like such a simple thing to do, but sometimes it’s hard to find the time to do it. God’s word says it will bring us so much peace when we do because in Philippians 4:6-7 it says, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Let the reader be encouraged to be a “Prayer Warrior” not only this week but for a lifetime. God loves to hear from us, so let’s talk to Him! Love y’all!
