Erin Metcalf extension director position approved

At their regular meeting Thursday, March 14, Alfalfa County commissioners Garret Johnson, Mike Roach and Nate Ross approved Erin Metcalf’s position as the Alfalfa County extension director.

They went on to accept the State of Oklahoma Department of Transportation supplemental and modification agreement for maintenance, financing and right-of-way (Project No. J3-63125-004-RB, State Job No. 36125(04).

The commissioners approved a private property access easement for District 2 (NW ¼ of 4-27-11) to remove railroad rock from right-of-way. They also approved disposing of four pieces of District 1 equipment: a 1968 Sheeps Foot Roller single drum, a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500, a 2019 SBD 40 Trailer Armorlite, and a 2020 Mack Truck.

Also approved were a resolution for the publication of the two-cent sales tax, and the publication and notice of the two-cent renewal of sales tax. It will run five times, throughout May and until the election.


A new chart of account Sheriff Commissary M&O 1223-2-0400-2005 was approved, as were two transfers, moving $2,400 from Highway District 3 M&O 1102-6-4300-2005 to Highway District 3 FICA 1102-6-4300-1210, and $12,240 from County Clerk Cash M&O 1208-1-1000-2005 to County Clerk Cash Personal Services 1208-1-1000-1110 for county clerk salaries.

A resale contract with Alfalfa Guarantee Abstract was approved, as was the LATCF reporting for 2023. LATCF stands for Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund. The report, which must be done in March for the year prior, showed no expenditures.

The commissioners also signed a stack of M&O warrants for payment and another stack of blanket purchase orders, approved the last meeting’s minutes, and learned they had no road crossing permit requests to review.
