AMS students compete in Tournament of Champions

On Friday, April 5, 20 members of the AMS Academic Team traveled to Rose State College to compete in the Tournament of Champions scholastic meet. They competed against students from schools all across Oklahoma. AMS students earned this opportunity to compete by placing in the top five on Science, Math, ELA, Social Studies, Humanities or Current Events tests in previous academic competitions this year. The students who competed did an outstanding job and represented Alva extremely well. Results from the Tournament of Champions are:

6th Grade: Sadie Longhurst - 5th in ELA, 12th in Science; Avaleigh Brinkley - 8th in ELA; Chloe Louthan - 8th in ELA, 17th in Social Studies; Trenton Parker - 10th in Social Studies; Rylen Headlee - 11th in Humanities; Joplin Bradt - 13th in Humanities; Evan Ward- 14th in Current Events; Blaze Bivin - 18th in Science; Maci Lehr - 21st in ELA, 22nd in Current Events, 24th in Social Studies.


7th Grade: Zachary Nichols - 10th in Math, 11th in Science, 11th in Social Studies; Elim Meeker - 11th in Current Events; Madilynn Salmon - 12th in Math; Josie Melton - 21st in Social Studies, 27th in ELA; Lyla Schmidt - 24th in ELA.

8th Grade: Hudson Killman - 5th in Humanities, 9th in ELA; Merritt Mantz - 5th in Humanities, 10th in ELA, 10th in PreAlgebra, 14th in Scholar; Isaac Anton - 8th in Social Studies, 9th in Science; Zoe Hall - 11th in ELA; Jacson Cummings - 12th in Science; Kase Martin - 12th in Science, 12th in Social Studies.
