First-place winners earn Silver Shoes

Blue skies and warm temperatures spurred a great turn-out at the annual Kiwanis Little Olympics Track Meet that was held Friday, April 26.

Each spring, the Alva Kiwanis Club hosts the Little Olympics track meet for Woods County elementary school students. This year the meet was held Friday afternoon, April 26, in Alva.

Students from Alva, Freedom and Waynoka in first through sixth grades were invited to participate.

The first-place winners in individual events were presented Silver Shoe Awards at a lunch on Wednesday, May 1, hosted by the Alva Kiwanis Club members.
