Fonville Honored by CollegeSwimming

SOMERS, Wisc. – Oklahoma Baptist's Victoria Fonville was selected by CollegeSwimming as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Fonville, a freshman from Ponte Verde, Florida, won the 50 butterfly in 25.97 seconds and the 50 freestyle in 24 seconds flat at Pepperdine's Malibu Invitational. She also placed second in the 100 free at 52.79 seconds. She also was on the winning 200 free relay team in 1:38.40.

The selection was made independently of the RMAC, which selects its Swimmers and Divers of the Week on Wednesdays.

Myers Named National Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Kynnedy Myers has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association Volleyball Player of the Week, the NCCAA office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Myers, a sophomore hailing from Rose Hill, Kansas, enjoyed a standout week as Oklahoma Baptist split a pair of matches with Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello. In a five-set loss to UAM, Myers posted her second triple-double of the season with 11 kills, 39 assists and a team-high 19 digs. For the week, the setter averaged a triple-double with 10.5 kills, 38.5 assists and 13.5 digs, while also tallying two service aces and four total blocks. She averaged 8.56 assists per set.


This is the first time a Lady Bison has been honored as the NCCAA National Player of the Week in the history of the program.

Oklahoma Baptist (13-9, 7-2 GAC) wraps up their nonconference schedule tonight as they welcome Arkansas-Fort Smith to the Noble Complex for a 6 p.m. bout.
