Nwonumah Scores Twice in Harding Men's Soccer's 3-2 Loss at Christian Brothers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sophomore Jeremy Nwonumah scored goals in each half, but Christian Brothers held off Harding 3-2 on Friday night in non-conference men's soccer action at Signaigo Field.

Harding dropped to 12-4-0 overall with the loss, and Christian Brothers improved to 7-6-0.

Nwonumah's two-goal game was his second this season and is tied with Matheus Ribeirofor the team scoring lead with five goals.

Nwonumah scored the first goal in the 17th minute with the assist from Barry Foster. Christian Brothers answered less than three minutes later with Bernardo Ferreira scoring in the 20th minute.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime.

Christian Brothers took the lead for good in the 52nd minute on a goal by Xavi Lao, and the Bucs moved ahead 3-1 on Jannick Baumer's goal in the 67th minute.

Nwonumah pulled back one goal for the Bisons in the 76th minute, again from Foster. It was Foster's first career multi-assist game.

Friday's game was the first of three straight road games to conclude the regular season. Harding plays its final Great American Conference game Tuesday at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
