Bison Claim More Top Times in Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Oklahoma Baptist finished the Mizzou Invitational Saturday with six new top five times, including two new No. 1 marks, for NCAA Division II.

For the three-day meet, OBU leaves with 13 top five and six new No. 1 times for the division in tow.

David Lambert posted a 43.65 in the preliminaries to establish a new top time in Division II and Chad Brandon's 45.11 ranks fifth Saturday.

Fernando Morillas Ramos finished the 200 breaststroke in 1:58.72 for the new top time.

Kristijan Stunkovic posted 1:48.66 in the prelims for the second best time this season in the 200 butterfly.

Lambert, Brandon, Andre Del Rio and Austin Saunders had the division's No. 2 time in the 400 free relay at 3:01.91.

Felipe Ramirez Zapata posted the third best time in the 200 backstroke at 1:49.85.

The meet opened Thursday with Lambert taking the top spot in the 50 free at 19.40 seconds and the 200 medley relay team of Lambert, Chad Brandon, Andre Del Rio and Austin Saunders doing the same at 1:19.23.

Stunkovic had the No. 2 time in the 200 individual medley at 1:51.10.

Friday, the Bison relay team of Stunkovic, Morillas Ramos, Alex Mundt and Ramirez Zapata took over the top space in the 800 free relay at 6:44.17.

Morillas Ramos took the new No. 1 spot in the 100 breaststroke at 55.01.

OBU logged the Nos. 2 and 3 times in the men's 400 individual medley with Stunkovic coming in at 3:59.41 and Mundt at 3:59.76.
