BJCC employees have a tradition of giving

Employees from Bill Johnson Correctional Center recently attended the 30th Annual C.A.R.E Golf Tournament at Firelake Golf Course in Shawnee, Oklahoma. BJCC, alone, has raised $6,324 over the past five years through local sponsorships, volunteering man hours and auction items at the golf tournaments. All monies raised have graciously been donated back to the community and surrounding towns. Organizations such as Little Red Hens, Alva Police Department SRO (school resource officers), Alva Recreational Complex teams, Alva Robotics Team, Education First, Troop/Pack 392, Softball, Soccer and Baseball teams (Goldsox, Chili's, Alva Youth Soccer) and Alva, South Barber and Burlington After Proms.

The C.A.R.E (Caring-Assisting-Responding-Education) program provides assistance to various projects and organizations outside of school programs and receives their funding through donations and fund raising. C.A.R.E supports alternatives for youth and encouraging young people to become involved in positive, character-building activities. They can be after school programs, booster clubs, sports teams, etc. Any program that gives children a safe and productive place to go can be a beneficiary.

C.A.R.E fund requests can be obtained by contacting Heather O'Neil via phone 580-327-8000 or heather.o'[email protected]
