Upcoming classes offered by local and area OSU Extension

OSU Family & Consumer Sciences Extension Educators from Woods, Alfalfa, Major and Blaine counties recently announced their 2024 classes and workshop schedule.

We invite the public to a lesson on “Food Product Dating – Is this really expired?” on Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. Many foods are good past the “best by” date and so much of the time we see that date as the expiration date. In the state of our economy let’s not waste it if we don’t need to! This lesson is free and will be held at the Woods County Courthouse, third-floor conference room.

OSU Extension will hold a “Mini Barn Quilt & Pull-Apart Cupcake” workshop on Feb, 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Woods County Fairgrounds, Women’s Building. Participants will make 12” x 12” mini barn quilt and explore the art of decorating pull-apart cupcakes. Please contact the Woods County OSU Extension office at 580-327-2786 for information on cost, a supply list, and to register by Jan. 29.

A monthly lesson on Laundry Stain Removal will be held on Feb. 22 at 1:30 p.m. in the Woods County Courthouse Conference Room on the first floor. This lesson, as well as all monthly OHCE (Oklahoma Home and Community Education) lessons, is free of charge and open to everyone.

Registration information will be coming soon on other workshops on “Freezer Meals” in March, “Making Pickles” in July, and “Sourdough Breads” in August. Follow our Facebook page, “Woods County OSU Extension,” to keep up to date on the latest events.
