The Aline Star Cemetery Association held its annual meeting on Tuesday, April 16. This yearly meeting is held on the third Tuesday of April in Aline for those who own burial space(s) or are interested in purchasing sites.
The Aline Star Cemetery board met recently to dispose of debris, prohibited items and weatherworn decorations. The intent of this cleaning is to assist families and the mowing crew with maintaining the attractiveness of the grounds. This service is also provided two weeks following Memorial Day prior to maintenance resuming.
Warm weather and expected rainfall ensure the need for mowing and weed control. Maintenance expenses continue to rise. Donations to maintain the grounds are appreciated at any time and ensure the aesthetic appearance of Star Cemetery. Tax exempt contributions may be mailed to Kaye Reihm, 50297 Blacktop Road, Aline, OK 73716. A gift acknowledgement is mailed to each donor.
Election of officers was held. Current positions include President Gary Booze; Treasurer Kaye Reihm; Secretary Brenda Dixon; and board members Cary and Nancy Anthony, Melvin and Nina Ricke and Doris Booze. Rita Anthony was elected to fill the vacant board position.
