A Cleo Springs man was injured in a collision with a truck Friday in Major County. John Byron Hamen, 75, of Cleo Springs, was transported by Fairview EMS to the Fairview Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition with a leg injury. The South Barber Chieftains won the Regional Championship round of the Kansas 8-man Football Playoffs, 62-22 over Norwich. The Chieftains put away a pesky Norwich squad in the second half after trailing at halftime 22-16. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Police say a shooting in southeast Topeka left two people dead. Topeka police Lt. Andrew Beightel said the shooting occurred Tuesday in the Highland Park community.
