Photos from: Freedom Principal Shelite goes to jail -- to benefit her students

Katie Strehl

At the Freedom School Fall Festival, a wide array of fun activities were on offer to help raise funds for student class projects. The festival held a silent auction, bingo and a cake-walk, along with numerous class-sponsored games at booths throughout the school. Here, Principal Shelite finds herself in the junior class's jail where patrons could pay to imprison someone for a certain number of minutes. Shelite is a good sport and spends some time in the slammer – the things teachers and school administrators are willing to do to benefit those kids! The fall festival raised over $2,500 for the student class funds.
