Budget cuts from the state are causing construction job loss in Kansas

WICHITA, Kansas – Though it seems like the Wichita-Metro is in the middle of many roadway projects, the state of Kansas is struggling to find construction jobs.
According to the Associated General Contractors of America, Kansas ranks the highest on the scale with the number of construction jobs that were lost in that last 12 months.
“We could use more people,” stated Tom Hein, KDOT Public Affairs Manager.
The road construction industry in Kansas says funding cuts to the Kansas Department of Transportation are being felt all over the state.
