Lady Bison Defend Home Turf

SHAWNEE -- Oklahoma Baptist repeated as OBU Invitational women's champion Saturday with a 1-2 finish at Gordon Cooper Technology Center.

Emily Sechrist won the five-kilometer race in 18:18.81, just ahead of teammate Sydney Lawrence in 18:21.15.

Kandace Standridge placed fifth at 18:51.88, Daisy VanMeter was 13th at 19:13.56 and Megan Allenrounded out the scoring in 27th at 19:29. Victoria Joslin was 29th at 19:34 and Tesa Potter was 38th at 19:53.41.

The Lady Bison won with a score of 48, followed by Midwestern State at 93 and Central Region No. 10 East Central at 97. Dallas Baptist was fourth, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State, Rogers State, Central Oklahoma, Southeastern Oklahoma, Texas Wesleyan, Southern Nazarene, St. Gregory's, Butler Community College, Southwestern Assemblies of God and USAO.

Also for OBU, Zoya Timoshenko was 44th at 20:04, followed by Miranda Nolen at 20:26, Lauren Franz at 20:39, Samantha Sweeney at 21:01, Emily Banks at 21:21, Mya Hudgins at 22:46, Dani Ingle at 22:33 and Ashley Ellis at 24:29.

OBU returns to action in the Great American Conference Championship in Durant Oct. 22.
