Savage Storm Second at UMHB Invite

KILLEEN, Texas (Oct. 12, 2016)– Southeastern posted some of its best scores of the year to date and played itself to a second-place finish at the UMHN Fall Invitational held at the Stonetree Gold Club in Killeen, Texas.

The Savage Storm fielded two teams in the event, with the top team posting its second-place finish over the two-round event, while the second team, playing with four players, finished 11th.

Sam Berry paced the club with a third-place finish after opening with a 72 and finishing with a 68 to finish third with a four-under-par 140.

Hayden Forster came in tied for sixth after recovering from an opening round of 75 to shoot a 69 in round two and card an even-par 144.

Cody Darling was the team's third top-10 finisher after opening with an even-par 72 and finishing with a 73 to fire a one-over-par 145.

Trevor Proctor was next in line in a tie for 15th after rounds of 73 and 77 to finish at 150 for the event.

Ryan Woods rounded out the first team with a 57 and a 77 to finish with a 152 in a tie for 25th.

Bryce Hughes led the second team with a 154 after rounds of 79 and 75 to finish tied for 29th.

Austin Adams was next up with rounds of 77 and 78 to finish at 155 in a tie for 32nd.

Nick Wren opened with an 81 and finished with an 84 for a two-round total of 165 to finish tied for 53rd, while Bailey Stamperrounded out the squad with a 90 and an 85 to card a 175 and finish tied for 60th.

The host Mary Hardin Baylor won the event with a 558, while the Savage Storm was second with a 579.

Southeastern will wrap up the fall portion of the schedule on Oct. 17-18 when it travels to Wichita Falls, Texas, for the Midwestern State Invitational.
