Girl Scouts help Homestead residents decorate pumpkins

October 30, 2016

Christian McKinley is helping Allez Jamison paint a bat on her pumpkin along with a skeleton face sticker.

Alva's Girl Scout Troop 969 helped the residents at The Homestead decorate pumpkins for Halloween. Carla Hess, the new activity director, asked the scouts to help her with their craft activity.

The scouts helped each resident participating decide what they wanted to do with their pumpkin. Some painted them, some added googly eyes and fall leaves, and others carved their pumpkin. Afterwards the residents either took their pumpkins to their room or left them out front to decorate the fireplace. The scouts participating are Christian McKinley and Isabella Stout along with their leader, Judy Neilson.
