Hot-Shooting UCM Drops Bulldogs

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri hit 20 three-point shots in their 90-55 victory over SWOSU Men's Basketball on Saturday afternoon giving the Dawgs their fifth-consecutive loss to start the season.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the early going, but UCM answered with a 10-0 run to establish themselves. After SWOSU hit a three to get back within two, the Mules again went on a giant 18-0 run to break away from the Dawgs. Down by as many as 30 in the first half, SWOSU went into halftime trailing 46-22. The second half saw offensive improvements for the Bulldogs after scoring 11 better than the first half, but defensively couldn't slow UCM down any as the Mules went on to tally 44 in the half.

The Mules shot 56 percent from three-point land on 20-36 from downtown to go along with their 46 percent overall shooting on the day. The Bulldogs managed to shoot 44 percent (20-46) from the field but fired up 11 less shots after committing 17 turnovers compared to UCM's six and being outrebounded 37-26 by Central Missouri.

The Bulldog's leading scorer, Devin Pugh, again led the way with a team-high 14 points. Daniel Eibel and Reshardd Harrisadded nine a piece while Dominique Lubin ended with seven.

The loss drops winless SWOSU to 0-5 on the year heading into conference games on Thursday (Dec. 1) and Saturday (Dec. 3) inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center against Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas.
