One person is dead following a crash Sunday morning, Jan. 1, in south-central Kansas, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday along K-2 at mile marker 21 in Harper County.

Dean Mark Melton, 29, of Wichita, Kansas, was taken to the Anthony hospital, where he was declared dead.

Two people from Kiowa, Kansas, in the other vehicle were injured. Cynthia J. Archuleta, 60, was driving and was taken to Via Christi hospital in Wichita. According to family members, she is listed in critical condition and was in the ICU. Passenger Danny Dean...
