Leed cracks Top-20; Lady Muleriders 14 strokes better in final round of Midwestern State Invitational

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Helle Leed dropped her round one total by three strokes to finish six shots over par at 78 and in the process crack the Top-20 individually, while the Lady Muleriders manufactured a 14-stroke improvement in the final round to place 17th overall at the Midwestern State Invitational played on the par-72, 5,843-yard course at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

OF NOTE

Helle Leed shot a 78 ( 6) in the final round to slide into the Top-20 and lead the Lady Muleriders to a 17th place finish overall. Leed's round 2 performance was the tenth-consecutive round that she has produced the lowest score for Southern Arkansas and her 78 on Tuesday was her second under-80 round and third for the Lady Muleriders as a team this season.

Bailey Carr (80, 8) and Gabriela Clemence (81, 9) each bettered their round one score by eight strokes to place in the Top-75 of a 105 total golfers.

Leed, Carr and Clemence each shot below the tournament's round 2 average of 82.64, while the former two golfers shot under the tournament's overall average of 84.25.

Midwestern State made the biggest improvement in round 2 as it bettered its day one 343 by 33 strokes to produce a final round score of 310; the second-lowest round score of the tournament. MWSU moved from 17th into a tie for 9th.

Mica Eastin (Rogers State) and Addison Mitchell (Dallas Baptist) finished tied for first after the pair shot a 75 ( 3) in both the first and second rounds.

The Lady Muleriders will return to action on April 3 and 4 at the Southern Bancorp Invitational hosted by Henderson State University at the Big Creek Country Club in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
