LEONARD CLIFTON MOREHEAD

Leonard C. Morehead, 73, Broken Arrow, was born March 13, 1944, in Arkansas to Nancy (Dalton) and James Milton Morehead and passed from this life March 14, 2017, in Tulsa.

As a child he went to Spencerville Grade School until eighth grade and then he went to Hugo High School.

He married his first wife Mary and they had two sons – Ronnie and Robert.

He later met, then married his wife Carolyn (Corbin) on July 29, 1967, in Altus, until her untimely death on July 6, 1998. In between those years, they moved from Oklahoma City to Cherokee in 1969 and raised six children.

Leonard wore many hats during that time and held many different jobs in the Northwest Oklahoma area, from Hammer and Phillips to United Supermarket. In 1985, he worked for Rick Caruthers Construction and worked there for 18 years. While in Cherokee he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee and baptized in 1990.

He met his current wife, Barbara, around the year 2000 and they moved to Hugo in 2003. They married January 24, 2004. Leonard worked and retired from Choctaw County, while living in Hugo. The couple then moved to Muskogee. After that, they moved to Broken Arrow to be closer to their doctors.

He enjoyed going to estate sales with this wife and purchasing things that he could refurbish. He loved to do projects with woodwork and prided himself in keeping a nice looking yard and flower gardens.

He was proceed in death by his parents; three sisters, Wanda, Juanita and Marilyn; one brother, Robert; his wife Carolyn and twin granddaughters, Caedence Lynn and Clara Jane.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara, and cat, Sally, of the home; three daughters, Pam Bouziden, Enid; Tina and husband Doug Lavicky, Cherokee; and Desiree and husband Dustin Malicoat, Alva, stepdaughter, Brenda Stout, Talequah; five sons, Ronnie Morehead, Arkansas; Robert Morehead, Arkansas; Kimey Kimery and wife Janet, Mesquite, Texas; Shane Morehead, Sanger, Texas; and Christopher Morehead and wife Corrine, Williamsburg, New Mexico, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also left behind two sisters, Lois Chappell, Grant; Rachel and husband James Young, Harrah; and a sister-in-law, Deanna Morehead, Hugo, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins and loving friends.

His memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Bethel Baptist Church in Cherokee with Sonny Daub officiating. He will be laid to rest with his parents in Spencerville Cemetery at a later date.
