March 31, 2017

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State women's golf team concluded the Pack Spring Invite with a team score of 338 for the second straight day, placing them in fourth place for the tournament.

The Rangers competed well throughout the day, but finished up just out of reach of Dodge City Community College for a top-three finish. Host Colorado State-Pueblo took home team honors with a two-day total of 630 (316-314), while Pueblo golfer Jacquelyn Porman took home individual honors with a two-day total of 148 (73-75).

Northwestern was paced by Kelsi Wilson, who despite falling back a bit in the final round, still managed a top-ten finish in 10th place after a two-day cumulative of 166 (81-85). Junior Olivia Brock improved her first round score this afternoon with a round of 83 to finish in a tie for 12th with 168 (85-83). Brock produced a stellar performance on the tough par threes Walking Stick Golf Course had to offer, going 2-over par for the tournament on those holes.

Statistically speaking, sophomore Brittani Casement also found her name near the top of the par five scoring while going even par throughout those holes in route to finishing in a tie for 14th at 170 (84-86). Freshman Hallie Ward improved on her first round with an 84 to move up into a tie for 16th place at 172 (88-84). Sherman, Texas native Kennedy Jewell saw the most improvement for the whole squad however, as she bettered her round one score by seven shots to finish in a tie for 23rd at 187 (97-90).

The Rangers will take a weekend off before heading to Fort Smith, Arkansas, for the annual Hardscrabble Invitational on April 10-11 at Hardscrabble Country Club.
