EDMOND, Okla. — Southern Nazarene won two matches in singles, but couldn't overcome three losses in doubles in a 7-2 loss to Tarleton State Thursday at the KickingBird Tennis Center.

Anna Garcia and Dragana Samardzic fell 8-2 at No. 1 doubles while Noelia Gomez and Judit Mas lost 8-4 at No. 2. Taylor Sullivan and Trista LeGrande lost 8-0 at No. 3.

Gomez recorded the only sweep for the Crimson Storm (2-7) on the day as she defeated No. 6 (South Central Region) Erika Johnston, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. Garcia notched the other win for SNU and did it was a nail-biter that went to a tiebreaker in the third set. Garcia won the first set 6-3, but fell 4-6 in the second one. She then won the tiebreaker 7-4 to win the set 7-6 at No. 2. Samardzic fell 6-4, 6-2, at No. 3 and Judit Mas lost 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4. LeGrande and Sullivan went down in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 and 6.
